Happy Friday Friends!

How has your week been? Is it starting to feel like spring in your neck of the woods yet? We get 40 degrees on Saturday and after that a mix of 40’s and 50’s throughout next week. I.AM.SO.PUMPED.

Just popping in to share some of my favorite things these days. It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these posts, but I love doing them, so they probably should be added to my weekly blog schedule more often!

5 THINGS FRIDAY

DAILY MNB or ACTIVE LIVING CHALLENGE

It’s been an awesome week participating in the Daily Move. Nourish. Believe. Challenge. If you caught my post for The Fit Dish on Tuesday, you know that it’s been doing all kinds of inspiring in my life. I’ve been working on writing in my MNB journal and using each Instagram post as a way to set my intention for the day. Want more info? Check out more about MNB and Lorna Jane!

HOLOCENE + POST-WORKOUT YOGA

half-moon-poseSo, last week, I only did yoga for my workout. I went to the gym, at least twice to fill out teaching paperwork, and as much as I wanted to lift heavy things, I stuck to just yoga. It ended up being just what I needed. This week, I’m back to the gym and ‘normal workouts’. But, I’ve kept yoga in the mix at the end of my workouts. Usually the studio is available after I’m done, so I switch my Spotify to play Bon Iver’s `Holocene` and do some freestyle yoga on my own. The song is one of my favorites. It’s so relaxing. That, paired with a few sun salutations and downdog, it’s the perfect cool down.

COOKING REAL FOOD

On Monday, I mentioned I went on a major meal prep binge this past weekend. The cooking streak continues this week. It feels SO GOOD to nourish my body with healthy, whole, nutrient dense foods. Meal highlights include: carrot noodle pasta with veggies + tempeh AND my post-workout meal of brown rice, spinach eggs, lamb + sausage chili, and avocado. SO DELICIOUS!

MY MOM’S EXCITMENT

One of my mentors from high school, I think I’ve mentioned her before – Danyele (she’s a legit photographer!), has been going to her trainer for years. Her trainer started selling Arbonne and did a 30 day detox with her. Daneyle has had AMAZING results. Like, amazing. I can’t believe how good she looks. She started talking to me about it and Arbonne as a company. And I decided to hop on board as a Consultant.

As I looked more into the detox, I was super impressed with how it is put together. They have quality products – gluten free AND vegan. Major inflammatory foods are cut (gluten, dairy, soy, processed foods, SUGAR) and healthy digestion and immunity support are added (detox tea, digestion aids, fiber). What I love is that there is never a point in the 30 days that consists just of shakes. When on the detox, you are eating real, whole, organic, nutrient dense foods. It really is more like 30 days to a lifestyle change.

30-days-detoxSo, I told my mom about it and she is starting it next week! She is super pumped and I cannot WAIT for her to begin and start seeing results. She isn’t going for weight loss (although, I think she is going to shed pounds), but instead hoping to kickstart her journey to healthy living. Her doctor is in full support as well, confident that this will help her with some health issues.

If you are interested, message me. I’m tossing around the idea of doing a 30 Days to Healthy Living Detox through the blog in the coming weeks. I’d love to get a big group together for encouragement/support and I’d love to gauge interest as well!

BLOGGING

I’ve been so enjoying blogging lately and doing a few things to grow the blog. It seems like so many doors are opening for me to spend more time investing in it too. I was able to pick up a few classes at my gym, and I have two interviews on Monday with smaller gyms in the area to do some group fitness/personal training. I’m so excited (and slightly surprised) for opportunities to do fitness more full-time! Which means I’ll have more time to work on the blog as well.

There have been a few mini facelifts over the past couple weeks and more are on the way. Plus, I’ve started a newsletter. Make sure to sign up to receive weekly wellness tips, and more. Best part is that it is totally freeeeeee and it is only sent out once a week, so you hopefully won’t get too sick of me!

Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for a brand new kettlebell workout tomorrow! I did this short workout the other day and it was great. Can’t wait to share it with you guys.
