HAPPY WHAT I ATE WEDNESDAY!
Guys, I freaking love The Mindy Project. I can’t quit watching it. I’m only watching at night during blogging and stuff, so I’m only getting through a couple episodes every few nights. But I finally made it through season 1. I just love it.
So, exciting day – I’m sharing some tasty food photos, I’m getting the wedding invites from my mom (!!), there will be lots of cooking going down after I teach bootcamp at 8:30, AND it’s the first day of the Arbonne 30 Day Healthy Living Challenge!! The Workout Bud and I started this morning, meaning I set out everything he needed to put in the blender for his smoothie, since I won’t be there when he wakes up. I’m hoping the simple instructions of: put the contents of the bowl (protein powder, chia seeds, spirulina) into the blender with water or almond milk, frozen berries and blend, won’t be too tough.
Simple directions. Speak slowly. Review. Remind.
kid boy man.
I confess, I ate quite a few M&M’s yesterday night. I wanted to get the last few in before the detox. I’m really excited to start it. I feel like I got on the sugar train a few weeks ago and once you get on, it’s hard to get off. I am still eating ‘clean’ but having a few handfuls of M&M’s every now and then just makes me smile. All about balance, yes. But I know that right now I am not very balanced with the amount of sugar-y treats I’ve been consuming.
Plus, the wedding keeps inching closer and closer. And this girl wants to look dang fine in her dress. Which is prettttttty form fitting. I want to clean up the diet and make sure the body is moving. I got 17,000+ steps yesterday! The Boy and I went for a super long walk after class because it was so beautiful out. Our walks usually always have good talks.
Like when I told him what he could and couldn’t eat on the detox. ‘Babe, no cereal, no cow milk or peanut butter. Oh, and no ramen or gluten or white rice or bacon. No PB&J’s either. Or soy sauce. But all the veggies, eggs and brown rice you want!’
‘UUUUUUHHHHHHH!!!!! Why don’t you just take away all my major food groups!!!’
He had a moment…or two, but he decided it was more important for him to get even more good looking before the wedding, so he agreed to the detox.
So today, I’m prepping lots of smoothies, sweet potatoes, chicken, overnight oats and more. It’s no sugar, dairy, gluten, soy or processed foods for 30 days. Actually, less strict than other detoxes I’ve had to do in the past. I’m pumped. Organic, nutrient dense, unprocessed, and homemade. Much like the photos you’ve been viewing!
I’ll be sharing both of our ‘before’ photos and giving updates on our progress throughout the 30 days. Plus, I’m sure I’ll have some new recipes to give you guys as well.
If you didn’t have time to join in April, we are running another detox cycle in May. There are at least 3 people join already. Make sure to check out more details over at the Arbonne page. AND sign up for the newsletter. I’ll be sharing more details about Arbonne there as well!
That sandwich was to die for. My baby brother made me a small loaf of homemade sourdough bread. It was perfect and wonderful and it made my sandwich so great.
Also, The Workout Bud ate an entire pound of bacon last night (unpictured). At 11pm. His farewell meal. I don’t even know how. I’m drafting a post called ‘How to Feed a Man-Child So He Won’t Eat a Pound of Bacon After Eating a Steak and Banana‘. Because that is seriously what happened last night. Be on the lookout.
Linking up with Jenn today for another WIAW!
What are you eating this Wednesday? Would you give up sugar for 30 days?
