You read that right. Not one buddy. But TWO buddies for BlogFest.

I let out a little squeal when I got the email telling me that Ange from Cowgirl Runs and Alyse from FitApproach were my pals for the weekend.

Not only am I pumped for BlogFest, but also to tell you all a little more about these lovely ladies!

And without further ado…

  1. WHO ARE YOU? TELL US IN A BRIEF PARAGRAPH WHO YOU ARE / WHAT CITY YOU LIVE IN / WHAT YOU BLOG ABOUT?
I’m a 30-ish runner-blogger living in Calgary, AB, blogging at Cowgirlruns. I live downtown in a condo with my cat Merlin who makes regular appearances on my blog and Instagram. I started my blog about the time I decided to train for my first marathon and it’s continued to grow in ways I never imagined. I focus mainly on health and fitness topics, but also like to chat about the daily life things, so I coined the genre Healthy Living Lifestyle Blogger, because I think it does a good job at capturing all I talk about on my blog.

  2. WHAT ARE YOU HOPING TO GET OUT OF BLOGFEST 2015?
I honestly have no idea what to expect! I’m so excited to meet so many bloggers I admire and bloggers I’ve connected with online but have yet to meet in real life. I’m sure there will be lots of jumping up and down and squealing over the weekend 🙂

I can’t wait to learn more about blogging as a business – I fully expect to have a lot of “AHA” Oprah moments.

  3. WHO’S YOUR FITNESS CELEBRITY CRUSH?
I am soooooooo excited to meet Jillian Michaels’ at BlogFest. I think she’s such a badass, but the good kind of badass 😉

  4. WHAT IS YOUR SPIRIT ANIMAL?
Instead of what, I’m going to go with who. Mindy Kaling, hands down. I cried a bit when I heard The Mindy Project was cancelled, and then I heard it’s going to be shown in Canada, so I held a dance party in my living room.
(JEN: I LOVE The Mindy Project so much! I nearly shed a tear when it was cancelled too!)

  5. WHO IS THE MOST INSPIRATIONAL PERSON IN YOUR LIFE AND WHY?
I know this is a standard question, but it’s one I always struggle with. I find different people inspire me daily in different ways. Sometimes it’s something small, like a coworker telling me she recently ran a kilometer without stopping for the first time, and sometimes it’s something big like a fellow blogger being recognized for being awesome.

I tend not to focus too much on one person because I think that takes the focus on what I’m working on in my life.

  6. IF YOU COULD GO BACK TO SCHOOL, WHAT ARE OF STUDY WOULD YOU FOCUS ON?
I think if I decided to recommit and do it all over again, I’d be a doctor or a lawyer. I’ve taken a handful of online courses related to both of those areas because it interests me.

I’m also currently working on being a certified marathon coach and should have all the requirements complete by the end of the year!

  1. WHO ARE YOU? TELL US IN A BRIEF PARAGRAPH WHO YOU ARE / WHAT CITY YOU LIVE IN / WHAT YOU BLOG ABOUT?
Hi! I’m Alyse, one of the founders of Fit Approach (and co-host of BlogFest!). I’m a yogi and dancer primarily but dabble in just about every kind of fitness, from running to aerials to bootcamps and glider yoga. I just moved to Austin, TX a few months ago and am LOVING my new city! I blog mostly about fitting in a healthy lifestyle, blogger education, and my love of food. I also just started a new blog because I found out I’m pregnant with my first, so I’m chronicling the trials and tribulations of things like morning sickness and growing out of your clothes over there. 2. WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT BLOGFEST LAST YEAR?
Ooh, hard to say. I LOVED seeing Jillian Michaels; she had such a relatable, motivational style. I think everyone left the room with a serious girl crush. I also loved getting to meet so many online friends and community members in person. There’s nothing like face-to-face!
  3. WHAT WAS THE LAST HEALTH / FITNESS MILESTONE YOU CRUSHED?
I’m really proud of myself for getting back into aerials. It’s something I had long dreamed of doing, but the instructor I first worked with was pretty discouraging about what my abilities were or could be. I found a better instructor and just love getting to fly!

  4. IF MONEY WAS NO OBJECT, WHERE WOULD YOU TRAVEL FOR VACATION AND WHAT WOULD YOU DO THERE?
I would love to do a scuba diving trip to Australia or in the Red Sea! I love being in the ocean and getting to pretend I’m a mermaid.
  5. WHEN DID YOU FIRST BECOME INTERESTED IN THE FITNESS WORLD AND WHAT SUCKED YOU IN?
I’ve always been active: I grew up a dancer and a swimmer, but like most people, lost my way a little in college. Starting Fit Approach, and seeing the amazing Sweat Pink community achieve great things, is what really sucked me in, and keeps me coming back for more!
  6. WHAT WORKOUT KICKED YOUR BUTT THE MOST?
Oh boy. I have had my butt kicked so many times! At BlogFest last year, Caroline and Mo’s bootcamp was brutal in all the right ways, as was Shauna Harrison‘s workout for Under Armour at IDEA World. Jamie’s glider yoga classes always leave me sore for days.

Aren’t they so great?! Wish they were your buddies too?!

Are you pumped for BlogFest? Are you going?
