Guys, I am PUMPED to be sharing the first Modality of the Month: the Bosu Ball!!! (check out last week’s post on Modality of the Month, if you missed it)

Through my partnership with Fit Approach, I’m taking part in a 4 week challenge with BOSU to show how I am #BOSUStrong! Throughout the 4 weeks, I will squat, mountain climb, plank, push-up, lunge, burpee, and balance my way to a stronger and healthier body! Plus, I’ll be encouraging you to join me on this journey through Instagram shots, blog posts, and weekly workouts featuring…you guessed it, the Bosu Ball!

Bosu is known in the fitness world as a tool for training balance, flexibility and delivering solid cardio workouts.

I love using the Bosu in my own training. This is also a system that I use for alot of my training clients, especially those just starting out.

When beginning a new exercise program, all my clients have movements that enhance their balance. If you don’t have a solid foundation, how are you going to progress and get stronger?? I use the Bosu for uneven squats, split lunges, alternating plank knee tucks (killlller), and mt. climbers. I’ll even have them just stand on the ball (flat side down, ALWAYS!) and do bicep curls + shoulder press, for example – just another way to challenge the core and build balance.

And please, if you are using a BOSU throughout this challenge, never stand on your BOSU with the dome facing down (images or moves down on the BOSU incorrectly will not count during this challenge).

Well, did you have a good weekend?! We celebrated Mr. Burpee’s birthday with his parents and did some relaxing. Also, dancer & warrior 2 on the Bosu, not so easy. I’ll be working on perfecting those poses over the next 4 weeks!
