Piña Colada Recovery Shake + Core Hydration Review & Giveaway!
I was given the opportunity to review Core Hydration Organic Fruit Infused Water through my partnership with Fit Approach. I received the product, compensation and discount code in exchange for an honest review. As always, all opinions are my own!
Hi Ya’ll! Lots of AWESOME stuff in this post, so stick with me!
So, anyone else love piña colada’s? Like love them? Or getting caught in the rain?! (Sorry, I had too). My mom loves piña colada’s. However, she usually makes them with a mix, which can be overly sweet and blah, right? Well, last week, I had fresh pineapple, full fat coconut cream, limes and shredded coconut. It was also ridiculous warm and beautiful outside. And my samples of Core Hydration Organic arrived, contain 2 bottles of Coconut Colada infused water. I basically HAD to make this recovery shake.

Why recovery shake, you ask? Why not just a fun piña colada smoothie? Well, why NOT a recovery shake? As summer approaches, I don’t know about you, but I want something slightly sweet and refreshing, all the time, especially post workout. Pineapple contains bromelain, which has anti-inflammatory properties. Combined with the coconut cream, which also contains healthy fats, you’ve got a tasty anti-inflammatory powerhouse, perfect for post workout.

The protein powder helps repair/build muscle and if it contains BCAA’s, like the brand I used, even better! For this recovery shake, Core Organics Coconut Colada fruit infused water was perfect. It’s organic, vegan, non-gmo and gluten free, containing antioxidants and less than 5 calories per serving! Basically, you are going to want to make this recovery shake after your next big workout.

Let’s chat about this fruit infused water really fast. I’ll be the first to admit, I’m a bit of a flavored water snob. I’m pretty picky about it, because I’ve not enjoyed alot of the brands I’ve tried. Core Hydration Organic is a GAME. CHANGER. Seriously, every flavor is delicious. I started with the Watermelon Lemonade and drank it so fast I didn’t even get to snap a picture!
My husband LOVES them as well. He always requests juice, but since most varieties are packed with sugar, and he gets enough sugar as is, I don’t often buy any. I have no qualms about him drinking a bottle, or two, of Core. It’s made with natural ingredients and it’s low on the glycemic index (less than 1 g of sugar!).
I love grabbing a bottle to drink while I’m teaching class. I stay hydrated and love the sweet flavor when I’m sweating! Plus, it curbs my sweet tooth. Most times a sip of something sweet works to cut the craving. This is the perfect option!

The coconut Colada is the only flavor I have tried so far and I also thought it kind of tasted like a pina colada!
Yes! It totally does! Makes me want to just lay on the beach!!

Awesome! I love pineapple and pina colada’s!
How did you KNOW that I am craving everything pineapple flavored at the moment? 😉
This looks and sounds so dang good lady!
Great minds think alike?! 🙂 Gotta love pineapple for summertime!
Love pina coladas (except from the mix -bleh) and hate getting caught in the rain – lol but what can you do! Have this shake instead – holy yumminess!! Love everything about this!!
Oh, agreed on the mix, Sam, no bueno! Yes, have this shake instead!!
I’ve never tried Core Hydration, but this pina colada shake looks really yummy! 🙂
You gotta try it, Emily! So good!
Pina Coladas are my favorite drink! I seriously start dreaming about tropical drinks during long runs. This looks perfect and not overly sweet at all! Pinned for the weekend <3
Oh, so fun! Tropical drinks are just the best! Can’t wait to drink some this summer!!
This pina colada smoothie looks so good! I love coconut on everything. I want this now!
Me too! It’s so yummy!
Oh my goodness this smoothie looks AMAZING!!! I wish I could reach through my computer and grab one because I’d totally devour it right now 🙂
Hehe, it’s that good! I wish I could make you one!
you had me at pina colada! but sign me up for the recovery too. I need both! hehe
Heh, exactly, right! Perfect combination!
First of all, LOVE that you’re all about using the full fat coconut milk – I hardly ever opt for low fat versions of anything anymore (suck it diet culture) and love seeing influencers promote full fat 🙂 Also, as another self identified water snob I take your opinion to heart! Would love to try Core
Yes! Full fat is the way to go, Cayanne! Definitely try Core – it’s hands down my favorite flavored water I’ve tried so far!
