Just a few of the things I’m currently loving.
Currently Loving: Early 2017
Hiiii!!
Happy Monday! How the heck are you? How was your weekend?! I wish we were face to face, so I could actually here how your weekend was!
So, I think my Friday was good. I honestly can’t even remember that far back. I do know The Hubs and I went to get ice cream, because I finished it last night. So Delicious Mint Chocolate Chip. It’s so good. The closest thing to Breyer’s Mint Chocolate Chip, which is my all time favorite.
Saturday, I did a long workout at the gym, did a 5×5 at 175# (working my way back up) and just had an all around good time. The Hubs and I did grocery shopping, which was not really that fun because it was super busy and The Hubs hates grocery shopping. He’s been sick for a few days and when we got home, I felt like I was starting to get sick. I did a quick bit of work before watching a show (you’ll see below). The Boo made SUSHI for dinner and after that, I spent pretty much the whole night watching TV. I tried to get some of the work I need to do done, but my motivation level was no existent, so I didn’t do much. Sunday, I didn’t want to do anything, but I put on my adult pants and did anyway. Set up at church, grocery shopping, did check-in at church, walked Oscar, spent 2 hours doing food prep, ate dinner, got ready for today, did more work, painted my nails and then wrote this post. It was a long day.
Now, let’s get to my favorites, in no particular order.
Food
PaleOMG Chicken Bacon Ranch Casserole
I made this last night for dinner. It’s so freaking bloody delicious. I made a double batch because #leftovers. It was so simple and just so good. I’m not usually a huge fan of ranch, but all the flavors meshed together so well. The Hubs is not a fan of spaghetti squash but he gave this rave reviews! Make it now!
Califia Farms Concentrated Cold Brew
I ordered a carton from Thrive Market (<— affiliate link) with my last order. I love Califia Farms milks and the cold brew is no different. It’s strong y’all. Now that I’m a coffee lightweight, I had to put a little extra milk in my cup. Even so, I’ll be ordering this again!
Four Sigmatic Mushroom Coffee Mix with Lion’s Mane and Chaga
I heard about this company through The Model Health Show. It took a few listens for me to decide to try this stuff. I’m glad I did. I definitely get the stimulus, without the coffee jitters. It doesn’t taste exactly like coffee, but it does enough for me to drink this in place of coffee, most mornings. I added a little ghee, coconut oil and collagen to my mug last week and it was a dream!
Supplements
Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides
I had a scoop of collagen err day. I LOVE this brand. I switched to Vital Proteins about 6 months ago and I won’t use anything else. Unlike other brands I’ve tried, I can mix a scoop in yogurt or oatmeal and not taste anything. I also put a scoop in smoothies, tea / coffee / lemon water and sometimes in my post workout BCAA & Tart Cherry drink. Plus, my nails are long. I can definitely see the benefits of collagen in my skin and nails. If you haven’t tried it yet, do it now.
pHenOH 7.4
The Team at pHenOH 7.4 were gracious enough to send me some samples of their new flavors to try out. I worked with them almost 2 years ago and really enjoyed the product. They recently came out with new flavors, which are so good. The Melon is my favorite. I mixed it with my EAA’s, coconut water, banana and ice for a post workout drink. Tasted like a pina colada!
Prime Nutrition EAA, Watermelon
I’ve been using EAA’s since I started back lifting in November. These EAA’s are my FAVORITE! They help me so much with muscle recovery. I also like the watermelon flavor, although it can be a bit overwhelming, so I cut mine with extra water or break up my serving throughout the day.
Olly Quick Melt Probiotic Sticks
I recently got the opportunity to try out Olly Probiotic Sticks. If you caught last Monday’s post, I mentioned how they have become a part of my morning routine. I really really enjoy this supplement. It’s convenient, tasty and I am now taking a consistent probiotic. Be sure to head to the Olly website to try out a free sample. <– this does have a sponsored link. I receive a small compensation to help keep this blog rocking and rolling.
Workouts
I bought The Bigness Project plan from Jen Sinkler and Kourtney Thomas and I’m in love. Y’all know I love lifting heavy shit and hypertrophy is my phase of choice. I’ve done the first week of workouts. I’m definitely sore, but super pumped for the gainz. It’s also REALLY nice to not have to program my own workouts. I love creating workouts, don’t get me wrong, but with LIFE right now, it’s nice to have my workouts already planned!
The Surge is one of my new favorite pieces of equipment. I just finished up a 4 week series with Hedstrom Fitness and Fit Approach. Be sure to check back to all the Surge workouts!
DEADS & Pull-Ups
I did 4 neutral grip pull-ups yesterday (currently up in my Insta Stories until about 1pm ET.), from a dead hang! And, my SI joint / pain is doing much better. Back doing conventional deadlift and hoping to add sumo back in this week!
Business
Mindset2Muscles Beta
You guys, my Beta group is amazing. These women!!! Back in December, I decided I wanted to launch a beta group for a fitness program that had been brewing for sometime. I put out some feelers and 10 women agreed to be a part of the program. I’ve loved this beta launch. Not only are these women rocking their goals, but they are inspiring me! Reading their responses to emails / Facebook group comments gives me LIFE! I’ll be launching the full program at the end of March/early April. Keep an eye out if you are interested.
It’s a 6 week strength training program that combines daily mindset/journaling prompts AND strength based workouts to help ladies achieve their goals. The idea is that our mindset affects everything, including our fitness and nutrition. If we can understand ourselves better, it can really help us reach our goals.
The Wellpreneur Podcast AND The Blissful Bites Podcast
There are SO many podcasts out there. Sometimes it feels like I need to listen to all of them, right now. In addition to The Model Health Show and Balanced Bites, Blissful Bites is my fav business podcast. While I’m not a food entrepreneur, all of Nicole’s guests have such valuable pieces of information.
I just started listening to The Wellpreneur and I love it! Such valuable content!
I’ve been teaching a new class called Mindset 2 Movement at a local studio, Studio Fit’Nez. It’s been really fun to teach again – I forgot how much I enjoy it. Vanessa, the studio owner, is just so wonderful. I’ve loved getting to know her and teach classes.
Other
The $0.97 Jeans
I’ve been DYING for a pair of higher rise, flare jeans to wear with boots. I just love look. I couldn’t find many, other than a few pairs at Nordstrom that were $150+. This girl ain’t got time for that. Thanks to Google for remembering everything I search because an add for Old Navy flare jeans came up on my Instagram. I decided to check them out and they seemed okay. I ventured into the store last week to see if I could find anything. In the mess of clearance jeans, I found a couple options. The $0.97 pair (high-waist, size 2), a mid-rise size 2 and 2 size 4’s; I wasn’t sure what size would fit. The $0.97 pair fit like a dream. None of the other pairs moved past my quads. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE? Then I took the $0.97 pair to the counter, along with another pair because I wasn’t convinced that they really were $0.97. Turns out they were. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?! So I got a pair of pants to somehow fit over my #quadzilla thighs, that look good and only cost a total of $1.04. Yes, I paid in change.
Yes, PaleOMG makes the list twice. The casserole only made it on because I just so happened to make it last night. But, this podcast. I tend to listen at work or on my walks. Juli just says what’s up and I love it. And, I decided to start watching The Bachelor this season and I love her recaps. I seriously can’t even handle the Bachelor, but they did some solid casting this season because I’ve laughed out loud on more than one occasion.
I needed a new show and thought I’d try this one. It’s quite good and I binge watched on Saturday. And it makes me never want to be a lawyer, although I feel like I could rock all the dresses all the females in the show wear.
…
Another Monday. Another day to be awesome and make magic happen. And another day for all the coffee!
SO, TELL ME:
What did you do this weekend?!
What are you currently loving?!
XOXO,
JEN

Great post Jen! I am also loving Vital Proteins, I’ve heard alot of good things about the Lions mane tea I’ll need to check that one out
Definitely, Ivanna. So glad you are loving Vital Proteins too. I saw your recent post on it! 🙂
Just listened to Balanced Bites interview on the Bigness Project and OMG I’m in love. I really really wish I had the time to commit to this. You knokw this girl loves to lift heavy shit 🙂 Can’t wait to hear what you think about it!! I need to look into the EAA’s I love watermelon too!
Girl, you’d love it! I’ve been enjoying it so much, so far!
Those 0.97 jeans got me excited too! If you can find jeans that fit well and they’re cheap that’s a TOTAL win.
I just started trying collagen too, and I’m hoping that it really helps! :))
Yay! So glad! I hope you like it!
I LOVE suits too! And I work with attorneys all day long…I promise most of that exciting stuff isn’t really going on but a girl can dream! 97 cent jeans? Heck yeah that’s a score. You’re ripped girl share with me your secrets I’ve been pretty off the path lately with kids and work I’m looking forward to the end of hockey season so I can readjust.
Hah, so true. Such a good show! I’ve just been lifting heavy weights, consistently. The only cardio I do is a few cardio moves interspersed occasionally into my workouts. Haven’t even really changed anything on the eating front either – just eating mostly real food, with the occasional doughnut! 🙂
So many fun things that I don’t know which to respond to first! 😀 Cold brew is something that I have been loving, too, recently! I’ll have to remember that brand next time I order off of Thrive. How do you like to fix your cold brew? PaleOMG Uncensored – ooooh my goodness! Julie has the most funny shit to share! I’m glad to see that I’m not the only one loving her random thoughts, uncensored behavior and honesty. Oh, and those jeans look great on ya! If only all jeans were that price….
Yes, try the cold brew!! I just mix it with milk! I LOVE her podcast too! It’s so hilarious!
