How the heck has your week been?! Are you SO PUMPED it’s Friday? I made the decision to change up a few things on the blog, in terms of series schedules, and I’m SO freaking pumped to share a brand new series with you on Monday. I think you are going to LOVE it. Today, I wanted to pop in and share 3 things I’m pumped for this spring.

3 Things I'm Pumped For This Spring | Burpees for Breakfast


I know those three words are generally reserved for summer, but I’m bringing them in for spring! We’ve already had a pretty mild winter and it’s been wonderful. So, I’m hoping for warmer weather we’ve had in February to continue in March / April / May. It’s already light outside by the time I get to work at 7:30a and it’s lighter longer at night, so Oscar can get in a little extra walk time.

Honestly, I feel like I thrive in sun and warmer temps…which is why moving to California in on our someday very soon list! I just have more energy and feel like I can get more work done! The past few months have been great, especially for getting work done, but I’m also looking forward to warmth, sun and longer days.


You guys, I’m just really excited for where my business is right now. If you’ve been following me for a while now, you know I ventured out on my own when I was laid off and after less than a year, I decided to scale back and take a full time job. The thing is, I knew that I had something to share and offer. Over the past few months I’ve been doing work behind the scenes – working on some blog and brand collaborations, getting projects done, taking on new clients, writing programs. I’ve been going slow, putting my touch on things and moving forward at the same time. I’ve got a new fitness program launching soon, a super fun newsletter challenge and a nutrition program with another blog friend. Plus, some other ideas…

Lots of good stuff in the works and I can’t wait to share with you!

3 Things I'm Pumped For This Spring | Burpees for Breakfast


I do love a good comfy sweater, but this girls is ready for spring / summer clothes! I got muscles to show off! For winter, I’ve been focused on pretty simple outfits and I plan to carry that trend over into spring. Since my office is casual, I’ve also been sneaking in a few athleisure days into the work week. You know I’m a huge fan of prAna and I recently got the chance to try a few items from their spring line.

Funny story: I’d been waiting for the package to arrive, even after I heard the shipment was delayed. When the Hubs and I got into the gym on Monday, the owner handed him the box with my prAna clothes! Apparently the UPS guy decided to drop the box off at the gym and someone signed for it. The box had been at the gym for a week! I guess that’s what I get for living in a small town and just a few doors down from the gym!


These pants! So, finding pants for quadzilla thighs is never easy. Usually ‘fitness’ pants work, but not always. We have a winner with the Annexi! They fit ever so snuggly on the quads, but otherwise, perfect. I love the color and fabric. They are a great choice to wear to work on a more casual Friday or for a weekend of shopping and errand running. I love them!

So, putting this top on, it wasn’t what I expected. It’s definitely not a top I’d normally choose for myself. I decided to go with a size up for a more slouchy look. After hanging out in it, I’m a fan. Now, you can obviously wear a tank underneath, but I didn’t have one that matched well. And honestly, I kind of like the idea of just wearing on top of a sports bra or a bra top. I’m also thinking this would be perfect for beach vacation wear – when you just want a little something to put over your bikini top.

Happy Friday! Any plans this weekend?! I’ve got blog/business work to do, a coffee date, church set up and class! It’ll be jam packed, but I’m excited! Plus – the Hubs is trying to convince me to use our Ninja Warrior gym gift day my sister got us for Christmas. We’ve been watching Ninja Warrior reruns and Ultimate Beast Master. I think he just really wants to climb and jump on stuff!
