There are so many fitness clothing brands out there. I’m sharing my top 3 that wear on a daily basis. Plus, a fun giveaway with one of the brands!
My Favorite Fitness Clothing Brands + A Giveaway
WELCOME to the Capable & Strong Series!
This series is all about strength training. We will be chatting about things from reasons why women should lift to suggested supplements to building a strong body and mind! And you can expect strength training workouts!
Good Morning and Happy Monday…and April!
Today, we are chatting fitness clothing brands, specifically, my favorites.
There are SO MANY out there and honestly, I’m pretty picky, especially when it comes to leggings. Stay tuned because I have a giveaway at the end!!! Let’s just dive on in.
ATHLETA
I discovered Athleta in early 2016. I love their athleisure options for one. The Crisscross Sweatshirt might be in my top 5 favorite long sleeve shirts I’ve ever owned. The Chaturanga Legging is my favorite! Sturdy fabric, but I’m still able to move well!

LULULEMON
I love Lululemon, but not nearly as much as Mr. Burpee! Lululemon leggings just get my lower half. The leggings fit like a glove. I’m a huge fan of the Wunder Under (Hi-Rise), All the Right Places and Inspire Tight. I recently splurged on the Fast & Free 7/8 Tight for my birthday. I tend to only buy Lululemon when things are on sale because #budget, but I love the quality.
SENITA
I found Senita via Instagram and I was instantly hooked. They quality pieces at a very reasonable price! Finding fitness clothing with pockets for your phone is so difficult! Senita has tops, bottoms and sports bras with built in pockets for your phone/iPod!
While I can be a bit of a snob when it comes to leggings, I tend to neglect my selection of tops. I decided to change that when I found Senita. The Dual Tank and Boyfriend Tank were my first purchases. Both fit like a gem. I just ordered the Tie Back Tank in gray and I’m obsessed! If you caught my Insta stories this weekend, you saw me sporting this top. It’s so soft and comfy. Plus, it shows off my back and arm muscles. One of my prerequisites for workout tops: does it make my upper body look good? All the tops make the cut.
Another factor for me, aside from a top being cute, is functionality. Yes, I love a cute top, but if it doesn’t let me move freely and do my workout without having to constantly adjust, then I ain’t got time for it. Really, the same goes with bottoms, which is why I’m a bit snobby.
When I put on the Rio Short, I wasn’t convinced. I’d tried shorts like this before and while I love that my quads are strong, these type of shorts always make me look like my legs are in sausage casings. After a workout Sunday, I realized I definitely like them. I used to wear shorts for workouts all the time, but I was forever hiking them up during squats! With the Rio, no hiking occurred! And PHONE POCKET!!!
GIVEAWAY TIME
I’ve partnered with Sentia to give 1 lucky reader a $50 gift card!! The entry period starts today and is open until Thursday, April 6 at midnight. I’ll announce the winner on Friday! Entry details are below.

…
How was your weekend?! Friday was gloomy and rainy. The Hubs and I had dinner with the in-laws and I just relaxed that night. Caught up on some shows. Saturday, I got out of bed at 9am. It was glorious! I made my way to the gym for a decent workout. I remembered that a couple weeks ago I told myself I needed to eat before Saturday morning workouts. I did not, so that workout wasn’t the best. After the gym, I made pancakes and started some cleaning. The rest of the day included Oscar walks (it was finally nice outside), a grocery store trip, a little blog work and a little house cleaning. Sunday was jam packed with setup at church, another grocery trip, shooting photos and doing a workout because I didn’t have anyone show up for class. I got home and did food prep for 2 hours. The Hubs decided we needed a date night, so we went out to eat, walked Oscar, chatted and finished the night with me falling asleep to Psych…at 9:30pm.
Solid weekend and I’ve got good things planned for this week!
SO, TELL ME:
What are you fav fitness clothing brands?
What did you do this weekend?!
XOXO,
JEN

If I wont the giftcard, that grey tank looks awesome!
I WOULD GET THE SHATTERED BLACK CAPRIS
I really need some new workout tanks and I love the cutouts that this brand does, so I would get one!
My weekend was so busy!! Saturday I worked out, trained a friend (my guinea pig until I get my certification), and then headed down to the city an hour away for a mall trip, dinner, and a concert. Sunday I food prepped, made a casserole for a friend in need, and did a whole bunch of other stuff. I feel like I need a weekend to recover from my weekend!
I would get that tie-back tank from Senita–super cute, and I am always on the lookout for new tanks since I tend to prioritize leggings. It also looks like something you could wear out and about–a good transitional piece!
Sounds like a full weekend for sure, Exa! What cert are you working towards? So exciting! The gray tank is the best!!!
I’m getting certified through PTA Global. I work in admin at Oklahoma State University and they offered a hands-on class here on campus for a good price!
Nice! that’s awesome! I bet it’s great to do it hands on!!
I love wearing quality type yoga pants. I’ve never heard of Senita.
I’ve never heard of Senita, but I prefer to workout in shorts, and I love that gray top you are sporting, so it sounds like I should check them out ASAP!
Wow, thanks for sharing, Jen! I am
A huge fan of Athleta gear but I’ve been looking for a cheaper option (#budget, right?). So I checked out the Senita website. I am in love! I love the cute prints and the affordable price tag.
If I were to win the gift card, I’d go for the rip short (which inseam did you get that didn’t ride up?), and the Malta high rise capris. I love the print on those ones, and both pieces would be super useful for me in my yoga and body weight strength building exercises.
Thanks!!
Totally know what you mean about the budget! 🙂 I got the 3.75 inseam. They ride up a bit, but not too bad!
I would purchase one of the super cute tops if I won for sure 🙂
Love these workout clothes and am in great need of more! 🙂 Even if I don’t win, thanks for giving me more options to shop from!
I’ve been cutting sleeves off of old t-shirts for the longest, and it makes me feel like a bro. I have a few workout specific tanks, but more wouldn’t hurt ;).
I love their half zip love sleeve. I’m also in love with Lulu for my bottom half – saving up for a high waisted pair. 🙂
I would get a pair of the leggings with the pockets
My workout bottoms MUST have pockets – Lucy and Skirt Sports are my favorite brands for that so far. I’ve been meaning to try Senita – love how they put pockets on literally everything!
Yes! It’s the best! I was just thinking about Lucy and how I haven’t shopped them in a while!
Honestly girl – your body is goals. So strong, so damn beautiful. Thank you for being a constant inspiration for me!
Now onto the clothes 😉 I’ve actually never tried ANY of these brands because I am sooo cheap! Seriously, I do Marshalls and TJ Maxx for the most part then occassionally will hit up a sport’s store if they are having a sale. Does that make me a horrible fitness lover?
Ah, you are the best. Thank you so much! I was TOTALLY on the cheaper fitness clothes front for so long. When I started teaching and doing training full-time, I needed to spent a little more on clothes. I still frequent TJ Maxx often, but invest in a few more expensive pieces…which are usually on sale. I’ve only ever paid full price for lululemon once and it pained me! Hah! 🙂
I need to start phasing out old frumpy workout clothes and in some more cuter ones 😉 I think next up is shorts for summer!
I also love a good nike outfit! Their running capris are my favorite.
I love my Nike running shorts but you had me won me over with the phone pockets!
If I won I would get the Balance bra and some Denali leggings.
a pair of new workout leggings!
I would stock up on the Marathon Tank 2 ! I love the pockets!
The tie back tank looks amazing and the Breathe Tee seems nice. The pants I had fewer opinions about, although the 7/8 tights and high-waisted capris look good. Mostly just excited about workout gear with pockets!
Yes! I love the pockets!
These workout clothes looks good on you and make me want to go shopping immediately. Thanks for sharing some awsome brands with us. I think I fell in live with SENITA brand.
Thanks, girl! Senita is awesome!!!!
